"I know."

Chen looked at Webb. She could tell him the truth. She could say that decoding it felt less like solving a puzzle and more like being tested, and she was beginning to suspect they were failing.

Webb sighed. "How much time?"

Chen said nothing.

Chen said nothing.
"Do you want to know what the map says?" Webb asked.

"No," she said.

He left.

Chen read the article twice. Then she closed her laptop.
She did not follow the story.
